Week 3/5

Hello guys,

how did you feel this week?

As Carla told us, it was really so much fun. I'm also a visual student and I just wanted to try all flickr options, you'll see it in our page (HIHIHIHI).

I think that this is a wonderful tool to use with our students. They love internet and photos, so this is a perfect combination for them and for us as teachers it can also be very useful. Imagine having our students writing without noticing it? I'm just excited with the idea of using it in the classroom.

So that's it, I'm really glad I decided to take this course, because I'm learning many nice tools to use with my students in a way that they can learn and have fun at the same time!

I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the course, Dani.

I truly believe that combining Flickr with writing activities can be really powerful. I'm sure learners will write much more without even noticing or complaining about it.

Is there anything which is still not clear to you?

Hi, Daniele.

I'm glad that you're having fun with Flickr. I can appreciate that because I'm (in general) a visual learner, too.

I agree that students love the Internet, and I also agree that they love to see photos online. When I was teaching, I almost always had "class galleries" with photos of my students.

Photos are useful for many other things, too. As Carla said, "...Combining Flickr with writing activities can be really powerful." Carla often does that, and I did, too.

Click HERE to download a very brief example of two picture-based exercises. The exercises are intentionally very short because they're only examples. They could be much longer and they could also be for "free" writing as well as grammar-based practice (and the same picture could be used for many other kinds of activities).

Good luck to you as you continue to have fun with Flickr and to use it in your classes!
